Love letters and pictures strewn across the floor in wild abandonment….. Her dressing table just as she left it….. Beds still made…..bedroomClothing in disarray on the bedroom floor…All except for one article– a long red gown hanging in solitary confinement in the lady’s wardrobe.  dressEssentially, a house frozen in time for 40 years……

So many questions arise……..

  • What happened to her?
  • Why was her house left untouched for 40 years?
  • Who was she?
  • What was so special about that red gown?

What a WONDERFUL creative writing opportunity for Halloween!!  I can think of so many possibilities for this mysterious case in English/ Language Arts (as well as in Forensic Science).

Peak students’ interest by beginning class with the video tour of the manor

Let their imaginations run wild as they use the manor as the setting for a spooky story.

From there, the possibilities are endless.
